Primary School Sport

MCSC have been working with local Primary schools for over 10 years, helping to develop their sporting talents through a wide range of offerings.

We currently work with 14 Primary schools, delivering in house PE lessons, PE lessons here at MCSC and after school sports clubs.

Our Primary Sports Events held here at MCSC are one of our biggest successes, bringing over a 1200 children here over the school year to compete in events such as, Football, Rounders, Basketball, Cross Country and Multisports.

Below is our full package which is offered out to Primary schools

“‘Slingsby CP School have worked closely with the fantastic coaching team at Malton Community Sports Centre since September 2021 in attending their sporting competitions and skills sessions. The events are always superbly organised and our children have gained so much from regularly attending competitive and ‘fun’ events in an increasingly large range of activities alongside other local schools. It is fantastic that all our year groups are considered within the sporting calendar of events, and our Reception children absolutely loved their recent football skills session. Since September 2022, The MCSC team have also been working with our children, one day per week, to help in the delivery of our PE curriculum. This has resulted in further upskilling our teaching and support staff to deliver a range of sports coaching more confidently. Our children thoroughly enjoy their PE sessions and have a great working relationship with the MCSC team.”

“Welburn Primary have been members of the Sports’ Partnership for a number of years and it has proved to be a very worthwhile and useful use of part of our Sports Premium.
Our partnership with them is central to our PE offer.
All our pupils look forward to their weekly lessons with a member of the team. Matty is always willing to be flexible and adapt to fit in with our PE offer.
It has also been extremely useful for my members of staff to observe these sessions to help them to improve their practice.
Whenever it is possible, we love taking part in the activities at the Sports Centre and these are always well run and fun with the right mix of challenge and enjoyment.
Our pupils also really enjoy the after school sports club.”
